Height 2" Width 3/4" Weight 2 oz. Beavers used to be found all over the world, but they have disappeared from Europe and Asia, now living only on the North American continent. The beaver is the largest of the rodent family, built for life in the water. It can go for 15 minutes under the water because of its big lungs. Master home-builders, they live in close-knit families and mate for as long as both are alive. Working in teams, they can fell large trees and build dams that create ponds. When they move to a new area, the old dam eventually breaks and the rich silt of the pond becomes fertile soil to grow vegetation. By cutting down trees, brush and grass start growing in the new sunlight, providing food for woodland animals. The beaver inspires many positives: work hard, breathe deeply, use teamwork, nurture family, keep your home in good repair, and act on your dreams to make them a reality.
